Associate Professor Jonathan Tyler

Independent Chair

Jonathan is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA), former NSW Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and author of four editions ACCT Financial (Asian Pacific Edition) published by Cengage. Apart from being a professional accountant, for over forty years he has taught and researched accounting (primarily introductory accounting, auditing and financial accounting) at UNSW, Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education, University of Texas at Austin, UTS, University of Humberside and University of Oxford.

His PhD thesis was on ‘Regulatory Requirements and (Company) Board Composition’ and supervised theses on ‘Interim Reporting in Australia’ (Suying Zhao) and ‘Factors Impacting Audit Quality’ (Fiona Ball). He is a TEQSA Registered Expert in Business and Accounting and his most recent research, presentations and publications are in Accounting Education

Professor Alison Elliott

Independent Member

Alison has extensive research, teaching and policy experience in higher education and specifically in teacher education programs that prepare educators for teaching roles in early childhood contexts and schools. She has expert knowledge of curriculum design, planning, implementation and assessment processes, learning and teaching in the school and higher education context, professional development for teachers, family-school connectedness and engagement, and policy issues in early childhood education. Her work has a strong focus on promoting optimum learning and teaching environments for young children and other students in regional contexts- in partnership with their families and communities.

Alison has had diverse professional experiences in education contexts in Australia and internationally. She has held a range of academic and leadership positions in the university sector and is author of many publications and reports focusing on early childhood and school education, digital technologies and learning, and various policy and curriculum issues. She has been a member of and/or contributed to a range of state- based and national decision making and policy making and review groups around Australia. Alison’s 20 + year term as the editor of the leading professional publication for early childhood educators Every Child concluded recently as did her four year term on the inaugural Board of the Australian Children’s Educational and Care Quality Authority.

Dr Hamid Pousti

Independent Member

Hamid is an experienced researcher in information systems with a strong focus on data analytics and digital health. His research is mainly concerned with the role of digital technologies in business and organisations particularly in healthcare settings. Hamid has been involved in many research projects and has extensive knowledge and experience in teaching and designing quantitative and qualitative studies.

He has extensive knowledge of managing industry projects during their lifecycle, especially practical project management skills across the end-to-end research process. He has worked in different leadership roles in industry and higher education, responsible for managing staff and analysing research data that led to data-driven decisions. Hamid is an ambitious researcher willing to explore solutions for new problems. He is passionate about teaching and research and is committed to making a difference for his students’ and clients.

Dr Lyndon Walker

Independent Member

Lyndon has over 20 years of experience in statistical analysis and consulting in a broad range of contexts. He is a highly experienced, PhD qualified statistician and data scientist who specializes in surveys and behavioral analysis.

He has worked in a range of consulting roles that have involved psychometrics, and large-scale internal and external surveying and analysis.

He has held leadership and advisory roles in statistical consulting and data science training for corporate and academic clients as well as the moderation and review of analysis and research. He has also provided quality assurance, moderation services, and curriculum design for education providers.

Associate Professor Susan Lambert

Independent Member

Susan is an experienced senior academic and researcher. She has led a successful application for registration and course accreditation for a non-university higher education provider and has been a member on multiple academic boards, learning and teaching committees and course advisory committees for universities and start-up non-university higher education providers. She has also completed numerous course accreditation and reaccreditation assignments for TEQSA as a registered TEQSA Expert.

Her previous roles as academic lead (Head of School, Program Director, Head of Teaching and Learning) fueled her interest in developing academic systems, policies and procedures that are effective and practical for ongoing operations.
